The Campus Grounds Crew will accept donations for trees and/or benches to commemorate a single person or group of people. Efforts are made to accommodate the donor's preferences in choosing an area of campus in which to locate the memorial, but this may not always be possible. There is an ongoing list of trees which will be planted in the current year; usually, these are planted to replace trees which have been removed, but sometimes may be planted in new or renovated landscapes. Donors may also choose to dedicate an existing tree. Bench sites have been selected throughout campus in areas of need and these may be reviewed with donors should there be a preference for a certain area of campus.

Donors may also choose to install a memorial plaque on site to accompany a tree or bench. The plaques for tree memorials are bronze and secured in a concrete footing.

The genus and species as well as the common name of the tree will be identified at the top of the plaque. The plaques for benches are smaller, also bronze, and are mounted on the back of the bench. Sometimes, a larger amount of text is preferred for a bench donation; in that case, a tree plaque may be used and will be placed on the ground next to the bench.

Tree Plaque: Minimum donation of $1000
(Price includes up to 50 characters of text, in addition to the trees Latin and common name)

(Price includes up to 40 characters on plaque)
